What this site is

A privately published guide to the Vanuatu citizenship application form and the document pack that accompanies it: what the pack contains, who completes which portion, and what causes a submission to be returned.

Independence from the authorities

Nothing here originates with the Government of Vanuatu or carries its endorsement. This is not the Citizenship Office, the Citizenship Commission, the Financial Intelligence Unit or the Department of Immigration; no function is exercised on their behalf and no designation is held from any of them. They are named on these pages because an application cannot be described without them.

Description, not advice

Explaining how a form works is not advising you on your own application. Nationality, residence, family circumstances and the history of your funds all change what applies, and none of that is known here. No professional relationship arises from reading this, and nothing on the site replaces an adviser who has seen your papers.

No outcome is promised

Citizenship is granted by the Vanuatu Citizenship Commission in its discretion. No website or agent can assure approval, fix a date, or recover a fee once the corresponding work has begun — and the due diligence fee is expressly not refunded where a check is failed. Any duration mentioned here reports what the market says rather than what any authority undertakes.

Information dates

Fees, eligibility and travel rules are revised by the bodies that set them, at times abruptly. What appears here was verified against official sources on the date shown with each page and may since have changed. Confirm anything you intend to act on with the authority concerned.

Travel access

Where this site says which countries admit the passport, it describes the position at the time of writing. Entry is determined by each destination and alters without notice. Two changes bear repeating, since so much older material ignores them: the European Union suspended visa-free access in February 2023 and the United Kingdom made Vanuatu a visa national country in July 2023.

Document requirements change

Most of an application consists of documents produced by others — registries, police authorities, notaries, translators and apostille offices — each with its own rules, fees and pace. Requirements described here follow theirs and change when theirs do.
